Welcome to all!
My name is Lillie Tuck (she/they) and I specialize in Scenery and Props. I am currently based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and I am always looking for new and challenging experiences that will take me all over the world!
I got my start as an artist within studio arts, and primarily practiced with acrylic paint and colored pencils. This foundation gave me a strong understanding of space, form, color, and balance, which helped me transfer my work from page to stage! I began my theatrical journey in performance; if I wasn't rehearsing for an upcoming choir concert, I was rehearsing monologues for the musical. While being transfixed on performance, I also began to dabble in technical theater, which allowed me to channel my studio arts experience. I quickly realized that being immersed in each specialty was very important to me as a theater artist, and I began to shift my focus to scenery and props after being involved with acting for a while. I now primarily focus on set building, set painting, and props creation, but I am always open to learning more, as humans we never stop learning!
As a set designer, challenges are almost impossible to avoid, but I always love a good challenge and I strive to innovate with each creation. I am inspired by the world around me, and my goal with each project is to leave my audience with a sense of childlike wonder. Scenic artists are magic makers and we have the unique ability to create an immersive story from words on a page.
My goal is to tell authentic stories about the human experience, and create an environment where everyone can be heard. Art is what connects us, and we are all storytellers!
