Hello and welcome!
I’m Lillie Tuck (she/they), and my passion lies in Scenery and Props. Based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, I’m always on the lookout for fresh, exciting opportunities that will take me to new places around the world!
I began my journey as an artist in the studio, working primarily with acrylic paints and colored pencils. This foundation gave me a deep understanding of space, form, color, and balance, all of which helped me transition my work from page to stage. My theatrical journey began in performance—if I wasn’t rehearsing for a choir concert, I was preparing for a musical. While immersed in the world of performance, I also started exploring technical theater, which allowed me to bring my studio art skills into a new realm.
It didn’t take long for me to realize how important it was to experience every aspect of theater. After spending some time acting, I shifted my focus to scenery and props, where I now concentrate on set building, painting, and prop creation. But I’m always eager to learn more—after all, we’re never done learning!
As a set designer, challenges are a given, but I thrive on them, always striving to bring something innovative to each project. The world around me is a constant source of inspiration, and my aim with every piece is to evoke a sense of wonder in my audience. Scenic artists are storytellers, capable of turning mere words into fully immersive experiences.
Ultimately, my goal is to craft authentic stories about the human experience and create spaces where every voice can be heard. Art is what connects us all, and we are all storytellers in our own way!
